Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.4a
Ok, after months of random pops, stutters and crackles (no, its not the pci corruption playing nforce chips, its an issue specific to Win7/Vista with the current Beta1 driver) i decided to repackage the latest creative apps with the latest available Auzentec stuff and older 1.1 Driver. from Auzentech's archive.
So far those using it have reported the issue to be solved, if anyone here is having these issues with a Prelude, and are running Vista/7 and using the latest Prelude Beta1 driver, then you can make use of this repackage.
Versions
Auzentech Audio Driver 6.0.01.1281
Creative ALchemy 1.42.06
Creative Audio Control Panel 3.00.47
Creative Console Launcher 2.61.49

Common Audio Driver Interface 2.30.82
Creative Audio Service 3.22.0.0
Creative AutoMode Switcher 1.01.05
Sound Blaster Vista Control Panel 1.02.07
Notes
Packed with LZMA2/7zip, so you need the latest beta of 7zip to unpack
To install SBPpt(Sound Blaster Vista Control Panel), just run the setup.exe in the folder containing the SBPpt folders.
For Bass Boost to work in 2.1 mode, the speakers must not be set to Full Range in windows sound properties.

If the Console launcher is not fully uninstalled prior to installing this version, you will need to download the latest DirectX Runtime (Full installer) and unpack it to a directory titled "DirectX" in the root directory of the driver so you have
Audio\
CTShared\
Extras\
DirectX\
1.4 goes back to the working 2008 driver but includes newer UDAAPO and CtTele files, now i've verified these do work on Applications and games so any problems making them work are on your end and not the driver. perhaps you are trying to use it with an app that outputs via Xaudio, which automatically expands to multiple channels.

Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.1
A new Alchemy driver is release for the creative cards :)
so i hope you will also update your driver ;)
New Version is 1.41.02 .
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.1
I am so tired from auzentech. The 1.1 remix drivers, dont give me 5.1. I can choose it, but the rear speakes, the woofer and the center are not clickable.

Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.1
that happens if you haven't restarted, the driver and windows aren't matching up.
it can also happen due to a unclean install, so clean up all the auzentech stuff and install from scratch.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.1
Unfortunately my friend, still the same issue. But thank you again for your tries.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.1
a strange issue indeed.

Works well for me to remove drivers prior to reinstallation. (although I'm sure you've probably tried this, I thought I should state the obvious)
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.1
I tried it my friend, but thank you.
I am one step before selling the card. Damn auzentech.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Remix has been updated to 1.2, includes the new alchemy 1.41.02 and updated DTS/DDL
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Where can I grab the remix from Squall? :) Did you replace the original link in the thread?
Edit: So you did!
PS. In 1.1 I found my microphone wouldn't work, so keen to see if this will solve the issue :)
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
unfortunately the driver hasn't updated so probably not.
However there is a quick fix to restore it, by Restarting the windows audio service in services.msc (enter that in Run/winkey+R)
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
file not found on new torrent squall_leonhart
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Squall,
File not found on piratebay. Could anyone upload and provide a link? Thank you
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Thanks a lot squall_leonhart
I upload it on Megaupload :
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Sorry for the bad link : Auzentech_Prelude_Remix_1.2.7z
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
thanks for the link, torrent was going too slow
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Hey wgg,
Thanks for posting the link, but unfortunately the link does not work (edit: fixed). Is Squall gone?
Could anyone please upload the Remix 1.2?
Thank you to all, and squall for making this driver.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
seems my TPB account got nixxed.
oh well, I'll host it elsewhere.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Hi Guys,
I too would like to get a working link for the up to date remix, I came here hoping after all this time, Auzentech had got a clue and knew how to bug fix their own, but it appears not.
This is the last Auzentech product I will be buying and I've been buying multiples of their cards back since the Xplosion. Shame Auzentech Shame!
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
well i got my TPB account reenabled, but the torrent already exists within the system (though still fails)
so i put the .torrent on tinyupload.
links in first post.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
hmm, i've been stuck at 91% for a day now, can you continue seeding please?
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Thanks for re-uploading the 1.2's on megaupload. Unfortunately, ran into some strange problems. The sound cutting out when playing videos is now gone, but the sound in video games will not play at all. I have no idea why, it says it is emitting a dolby digital signal and all but nothing.
Only seems to be in video games too, tried a bunch of em and no sound. Anyone else get this?
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
are you using SPDIF?
unfortunately i've not the capability to test that at the present.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
I'm using SPDIF. I still get the same clicky clicks I had from Auzentech's beta drivers. It remains to be seen whether or not it still makes a terrible noise randomly. Do you have any advice?
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
I downloaded the Remix_1.2. Unzip it and installed it via setup.exe of the audio folder. Now I can't get any sound at all, videos and gaming no sound. What should I do next?
I've also tried the official beta1 driver. There's sound except for the constant distortion and hiss sounds.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
the installation defaults to spdif output, just change it to speakers in sound properties.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
You guys think that Auzentech dropped their support to the prelude for windows 7 drivers ?. It's still beta and not all functions works on windows 7 x64. I see they release new cards and driver support for it but the prelude gets nothing.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
no, but creatives PCI apu's get less driver coverage than their pci-e apu's.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Registered just to let people know this worked for me as well - Vista 32, btw. For some silly reason (in spite of having no issues and it being a beta) I decided to upgrade my Prelude drivers to "the latest and greatest". Everthing *seemed* to be fine but eventually found some things where the sound had started crackling and getting "stuck" / stuttering at times. Googled around and found this.
Quite the PITA to get my hands on the file itself, preferring a direct download which should have taken minutes. Turned into me needing a torrent client and a six-hour wait to get it all downloaded, but dang - it worked. Thanks!
Now, from reading all of the comments here I'm worried that when I go to Windows7 64bit my card will no longer function well, if at all. Is that correct?
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
works fine on x64, the default device just gets set to spdif instead of speakers in Playback devices
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Cool... good to know. Thanks.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
I'm thinking so, although creative recently released some new ones so Auzen might release some new ones - who knows.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
those beta drivers are PCI-E only.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Dunno if I'm doing anything wrong, but on a fresh Windows 7 x64 install, your remix 1.2 is still only giving me output on the front pair of speakers with CMSS-3D turned on.
I downloaded through the torrent in the first post, extracted to a folder named Auzentech_Prelude_Remix_1.2 and ran \Audio\Setup\Setup.exe. I changed the defaults in the Windows sound options. I swapped the jacks.
Nothing. No sound out of the rear speakers or sub with a stereo source and CMSS-3D enabled.
This is in entertainment mode. Changing to game mode gives me output from the sub but still nothing from the rear pair. Clicking the "Channel" button plays the test sounds through all the speakers just fine.
Any ideas? :S
Edit: Also, every time I open the Windows sound settings I get a message saying, "Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following devices are causing problems: Speakers (Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1) Would you like to disable Driver Enhancements for this device? Yes/No."
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
here a rapidshare link for the version Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
http://rapidshare.com/files/397856655/Auzentech_Prelude_Remix_1.2.7z.html
has somebody a official message from the support if some new drivers are coming or not?
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
creative has some pci drivers in internal testing, but im not sure if they'll reach auzentech any time soon.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
rear and surround are flipped. if you only have 5.1, this is why.
expands fine for me though when i tested the various ports.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
what do you mean by rear and surround are flipped ?. I connected surround using the side speakers and not rear. Anyways i get the same problem as the other guy. When enabling 5.1 and enabling 3D CMSS i still only get stereo sound. Sound still only comes out left and right speakers. This is windows 7 x64. Im sure some here are having these problems here.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
CMSS xpand and surround wfm, so i dunno what to tell you.
depends on the app whether cmss3d will actually work though.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
CMSS xpand and surround isn`t working with Remix 1.3, worked fine with remix 1.2.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
It works fine for me. Audio must be restarted for it to take effect.

----------
Connect the rear speakers/jack to the "side surround" jack on the prelude, as they seem to be swapped with the "back surround" jack. Took me a few minutes to work out why I wasn't getting sound through the rear's, as I've given up and going to try using analogue.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
did you ever figure this out?
i've actually just did a full reinstall of the drivers and now its fooked for me too :\
if i launch a game i get it working in game mode, but music and video's aren't at all.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Hey squall I'm currently using your 1.2 drivers and it doesnt seem to address my problem with the card. From my searching and reading something along the lines of confirmation, though I cant remember where, I've concluded my chirping and crackling come form IRQ sharing with my northbride. Apparently theres some kind of memory buffer underrun caused by the sharing and neither win7 or my mobo alow me to change manually. Ideally I could change hardware or OS but that would be kind of silly for a sound card's sake. I'm just wondering if you have addressed or could address this problem. Thanks for your concern which is apparently far greater than auzentech's.
edit: Forgot to mention... crackling for me only occurs during video streaming and playing music while using web/file browsers. All other functioning is without issue (haven't tried any gaming on win7 yet).
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.2
Move the card to a different pci slot, the one you have it in is sharing irq with another high priority device.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.3 (2010)
anyone up for trying creatives new driver?
first post updated.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.3 (2010)
What times do you seed it?
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.3 (2010)
All day where possible. i just forgot i had created the torrent again without the private bit without removing one i created earlier.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.3 (2010)

Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.3 (2010)
Never had any cracking issues or other problems in normal gaming/desktop use during the 2,5 years with X-Fi Prelude and playing with different driver versions. However it it seems to me that the ASIO-performance went even worse with these remix 1.3 (2010) drivers compared to remix 1.2.
Running Win7 x64.
Re: Auzentech Prelude Remix 1.3 (2010)
haven't checked asio performance, as i rarely ever use audio creation mode.
