just signed up and already im unhappy lol. i don't want an overly complicated password auzentech, i just don't, please don't force me to use caps and punctuation, let me choose my own damn password format.

Yeah but obviously if you followed your e-mail link it gives you a one time password reset.
The thing that's unprofessional about that is this is the first forum in which copy pasting the random password was a waste of time. Instead Auzentech needs to make passwords part of the initial signup process.

As Pixel Eater suggested, we have changed the registration system so that new registrants can set their password at registration. We will keep this system as long as spammer registrations do not become a problem.

The math captcha is just one of many different types of captchas. By now it's pretty standard--but whether it seems that way depends on what you may have been exposed to.
About the captcha to post comments: it only appears for the first comment in a session.
The warnings make it look like your password has certain restrictions but you can use anything you want. The warning box is only alerting users their passwords are weak or low security, the form doesn't actually prevent anyone from using the password even if it doesn't have numbers or capitalization.

On the menu to your left, click "My account" and change your password.
